We are currently recruiting for a highly qualified Environmental Control Technician in Richmond, VA. This position is responsible for managing critical Utilities systems operations to maintain environmental conditions within process standards for product manufacturing spaces. Monitors ancillary systems and non-production HVAC systems.

Specific Accountabilities Include:

* This is an essential function to the business. It is required to be supported 24 / 7 / 365 to ensure the continued operation of critical facility functions.
* Monitor and adjust computer controlled HVAC systems to maintain production area temperature and relative humidity within process standards.
* Collect and analyze temperature and humidity data for production areas. Prepare and present reports to Utilities management.
* Perform relative humidity analysis using dew point calculation formulas to determine optimum HVAC control set points.
* Collaborate with Utilities management, production personnel and contractors performing HVAC and steam system maintenance and cleaning activities to ensure production area conditions remain balanced.
* Report HVAC system malfunctions to Utilities Controls Engineer, HVAC contractors or Utilities management for resolution.
* Receive and log trouble calls for process vacuum, HVAC conditions, flooding, power outages, piping system and roof leaks, general facilities issues. Communicate issues to responsible parties and to Utilities management.
* Communicate through the use of the central radio system, telephones, pagers and wireless devices. Employ active listening skills and effective voice communication techniques.
* Maintain a record of HVAC and Utilities systems status. Develop, generate and disseminate a daily status report.
* Adjust programming to rotate process vacuum pumps, KDF chillers and medium temperature water system components weekly to balance equipment run-time.
* Administer and coordinate the Trouble Call pager program. Maintain pager issue records and communicate with the pager contractor for repairs.

Specific Skills

Qualifications Include:

* Associates degree preferred in Mechanical Technology or other relevant science, or 5 years' experience in HVAC controls in a manufacturing environment.
* Manage the FM Global Red Tag fire protection impairment process. Collect and organize Red Tag permits. Generate monthly MOE (Measure of Effectiveness) report.
* Manage the PM USA Hot Work program. Collect and organize Hot Work forms. Generate monthly MOE (Measure of Effectiveness) report.
* Monitor alarmed roll-up doors critical to production area environmental conditions. Log alarms and notify responsible personnel when alarms are received.
