We are currently seeking a highly qualified Digital & Marketing Services Architect to join our Digital Marketing Services Delivery department in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing world-class digital experiences for Altria’s adult tobacco consumers. While this role is highly technical, requiring expertise in several software delivery disciplines, you will be responsible for working with business leaders to create, define and evolve the long-term strategy for our platform capabilities. You will have the authority and responsibility to choose libraries, tools, coding practices and frameworks that best meet the needs of your applications and to direct the day-to-day tasks for your development team.

Specific accountabilities include:

• Analyzing, evaluating, building, programming, testing, correcting, implementing, operating or supporting existing and planned IT products and processes under the general direction of the lead architect.

• Coordinating both internal and external teams of software developers, designers and testers to shape and grow our marketing and sales systems in the Azure cloud.

• Assessing technical infrastructure and processes, identifying potential risks and recommending corrective actions.

• To align your technology vision with goals of the business, you will work with closely with the Digital & Marketing Services team to achieve a deep understanding of customer perspectives, overall business goals and the stakeholder requirements from a broad range of third-party suppliers.

• Participating as a technical resource for a variety of information projects that will be dictated by current business needs and technological developments.

• Communicating complex technical information to business customers and project teams in the written and spoken languages of their domains.

Specific Skills

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.

• 8+ years of IT experience

• Experience with C# and/or Java programming languages

• Experience with JavaScript, JSON and RESTful APIs

• Experience with relational and/or document-oriented databases

• Experience with AWS, Azure (preferred) or Google Cloud, especially with Platform as a Service (PaaS) products

• Deep understanding of software security including tunneling, encryption, hashing, authentication, access control, and directory services (Azure AD preferred)

• Effective in leading and participating in cross-discipline IT project delivery teams

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
