We are currently seeking a highly qualified Associate Specialist HR Shared Services to join our HR Direct department in Richmond, VA.

HR Direct is an HR shared services center staffed by HR professionals available to respond to HR-related inquiries in “real time." The Associate Specialist HR Shared Services position is a key point of contact for the organization in facilitating HR transactions and processes.

The successful candidate will act as a custodian of HR data and records, ensuring the accuracy of data maintained in our SAP HR system.

Specific accountabilities include:

• Serving as a primary point of contact for HR inquiries from employees and managers via phone and email
• Delivering high-quality customer service consistently in a professional manner
• Providing technical and tactical guidance to HR Generalists regarding organizational changes and complex personnel actions
• Processing daily personnel transaction requests in the SAP system, as required
• Performing basic org structure maintenance, including evaluating paperwork and performing required research to maintain integrity of org structure
• Interpreting and providing direction on a wide range of policies, provisions and documented procedures
• Building effective partnerships with HR Generalists, Benefits, Compensation and Finance to ensure data accuracy in the HRIS system
• Supporting and assisting with large projects as required, including the development and/or improvement of business processes
• Participating on teams as the subject matter expert with the ability to make process improvement recommendations
• Acting as first contact for issue resolution and/or building client capability in the use of employee self-service tools

Specific Skills

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• HRIS experience preferred
• Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with other members of HR Shared Services
• Must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate customer service skills focused on execution and follow through
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization, in a team-oriented environment
• Possess the ability to work under pressure while effectively managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines
• Ability to read and speak Spanish is preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of HR data as it relates to "contingency" systems including payroll systems, benefits systems, organizational chart systems, etc.
• Strong attention to detail (particularly with entering data) and the ability to multi-task are essential
• Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills based on system data or other available information with the ability to successfully address client needs
