We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for an Associate Manager of Instructional Design, Content Curation to join our Human Resources & Compliance function in Richmond, Virginia. This role will report to Altria’s Director of Learning & Development, who has responsibility for Altria’s entire enterprise L&D strategy and execution. The enterprise L&D team currently will have six members.

Altria’s enterprise Learning & Development team will design, deliver, and measure programs and training that build stronger leaders at all levels, grow Our Leadership Advantage, and help ensure we have the talent and capabilities to achieve our future business goals. This position will contribute to that vision by effectively curating and developing content aligned with leadership development, business strategies, and stakeholder needs. Altria’s employees already are a competitive advantage, and we are looking to increase that advantage by building out our enterprise L&D team and investing significant resources in this center of excellence. This role will help reshape how Altria attracts, develops, and engages the talent needed to maximize our core businesses while innovating for the future.

Your Impact:

* Help transform Altria’s enterprise L&D strategy, approach, and overall value to the organization
* Partner with key stakeholders to assess learning needs, design, develop, implement, and evaluate content
* Curate high quality third party content for integration into our LMS platform that aligns with Our Leadership Advantage and practices core to the Altria Family of Companies
* Create curriculum/playlists with content from a variety of sources to support learner development and behavior application
* Serve as a “content custodian” supporting the evaluation of existing content and potential new content to meet modern learner needs
* Identify the appropriate delivery modality (ILT, online, social, etc.) based on best practice adult learning techniques
* Understand and effectively incorporate leading-edge trends with respect to adult learning content creation/curation
* Introduce innovative practices to ensure Altria’s L&D offering remains fresh, engaging, and a competitive advantage

Specific Skills

What we seek:

* 5+ years of experience in L&D or related Human Resources function
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Training & Development, General Business, or comparable field
* Advanced degree in Organizational Development or comparable field strongly preferred
* Additional HR or line experience also preferred
* Expertise in adult learning principles, assessment and evaluation techniques, and content design
* Knowledge of and access to third party content vendors and hosts
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong strategic thinking, consulting, and influencing capability
* Well-developed project management, vendor management, contracting, and budgeting skills
* Intellectual curiosity when it comes to best practices and trends connected to adult learning theory, including willingness to try innovative ideas
* Strong proficiency in change leadership
* Outstanding collaboration skills given multiple stakeholders, including other enterprise L&D team members, functional L&D resources, Information Services, and other parts of Human Resources
* One who naturally operates with a sense of urgency and has ability to balance effective collaboration with independent action
* Travel may be required
