Philip Morris USA’s role is to responsibly and effectively develop, manufacture and market superior branded cigarettes and smokeless products for adult tobacco consumers. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Brand Management Intern to join our Brand department in Richmond, VA.
Our 10-12 week summer undergraduate intern program provides students the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training, access to mentors, and educational opportunities. Students may be given the opportunity to work as a part of a cross functional project team and are expected to use project management skills to execute multiple project tasks simultaneously. Students will document project work in a formal report and/or presentation at the conclusion of each term.
As a Brand Management undergraduate intern with Philip Morris USA, the student will assist in activities relevant to the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans. This will include being involved in one or many of the following areas: consumer promotions, retail promotions, direct mail, e-mail, online marketing and experiential programs.
Projects will include: • Assist in development of marketing programs. • Execute promotional plans, product, packaging, and point of sale materials. • Advise Brand Manager of competitive activities and marketing trends. • Provide day to day direction to agency and cross-functional partners on project basis. • Analyze business results/program results and makes recommendations for future plans. • Analyze competitive marketplace trends and makes recommendations on actions to address them. Specific Skills To qualify for the summer intern program, the student must be in good academic standing at his/her university and enrolled as a rising senior in a relevant undergraduate degree program at the time of the Internship. Specifically, we are looking for college students working towards a degree in business administration or marketing. Work experience related to academic discipline is preferred. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
We are looking for students who possess strong strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills, written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrate leadership and initiative. The incumbents must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products and possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment. Pay for an intern position is commensurate based on the student’s academic level in school and experience. A Housing Allowance is available for students who qualify.
