The successful candidate will direct department workforce in facility/building maintenance and the fabrication, installation and maintenance of all production equipment and machinery. Specific accountabilities include:
* Managing resources and staffing levels within the business unit to meet production, compliance, team, and project requirements to achieve objectives or goals.
* Determining and providing for team and individual development needs to support the transition to self-managed Natural Work Teams.
* Developing and sustaining problem solving, continuous improvement and decision making skills.
* Seeking coaching opportunities with teams / individuals for performance improvement and administering reward, recognition and consequences when appropriate.
* Planning and assigning work, monitoring progress and providing direction to ensure high quality, cost effective results.
* Coordinating production and planned maintenance activities with team members and supporting resources to meet established schedules and assure effective execution of work processes.
* Developing and sharing relevant information to support and focus problem solving and process improvement efforts of Natural Work Teams in line with key measures, business goals, and strategic initiatives
Specific Skills Qualifications include:
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in any of the following engineering disciplines: electrical, mechanical or manufacturing preferred.
* Previous experience with print reading, planning and scheduling work.
* Knowledge of mechanical crafts, control systems and power distribution is desirable.
* Strong oral and written communication and excellent problem-solving skills required
* Ability to use computers and basic business programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) and previous supervisory experience required.
* Knowledge of Quality Systems requirements is preferred.
* Understanding of manufacturing process is preferred.
