Philip Morris USA’s role is to responsibly and effectively develop, manufacture and market superior branded cigarettes and smokeless products for adult tobacco consumers. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Associate Brand Manager to join our Brand Management department in Richmond, VA.
Brand Management’s unique contribution is to discover the most responsible, effective and profitable ways to connect to adult tobacco consumers. Our team is closely connected with key decision makers and is a critical resource in defining business direction and strategy.
As an Associate Brand Manager, you will play a key role in the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans; including advertising, consumer promotions, retail promotions, direct mail and new concept development. Specific accountabilities include: * Analyzing the marketplace on an ongoing basis and utilizing information to develop strategic program enhancements
* Advising brand management of competitive activities and marketing trends
* Developing and maintaining business relationships with a variety of functions; including Manufacturing, R&D, Purchasing, and Packaging Development
* Maintaining contact with external companies, including research firms, advertising agencies, and promotion houses
* Maintaining a thorough understanding and knowledge of Brand objectives and creative strategies
* Driving concepts for equity and value-based programs and establishing initial budgets for senior management approval
* Monitoring budgets and recommends cost effective and efficient uses of funds
* Engaging in the recruiting process and in the development of the marketing organization
Specific Skills Qualifications include: * A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or a related field, with a strong preference for an MBA
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant marketing experience, preferably in consumer products
* Highly developed strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills
* Proven leadership skills and a high degree of initiative
* Excellent presentation skills, as well as solid verbal and written communication skills
