Altria Client Services’ role is to provide high quality services to the Altria family of companies. We are currently seeking highly a qualified graduate intern to join our Market Information and Consumer Research (MICR) department in Richmond, VA.

Our 10-12 week summer intern program provides students the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training, access to mentors, planned social events, and educational opportunities. Students may be given the opportunity to work as a part of a cross functional project team and are expected to use project management skills to execute multiple project tasks simultaneously. Students will document project work in a formal report and/or presentation at the conclusion of each term.

As an MICR graduate intern with Altria Client Services, the student will design, execute and interpret primary and/or secondary research analyses on key strategic business issues faced by the Altria family of companies. The student will develop conclusions and implications to aid decision making at the Company and will present findings to key clients including Marketing and Sales as well as Senior Management. The incumbent will be placed in the Marketing & Consumer Research, Information Management, or Forecasting & Business Analysis group.

Projects will include:
• Become familiar with the companies’ retail and adult consumer databases
• Provide analytical support to a number of key business project teams or clients
• Assist in the identification of strategic opportunities for any of Altria’s Operating Companies
• Provide ongoing tracking and reporting on marketplace developments
Specific Skills To qualify for the graduate summer intern program, the student must be in good academic standing at his/her university and completed the first year of an MBA or MS program, at the time of the internship. Specifically we are looking for college students working towards an MBA degree in Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, or Economics. Work experience related to academic discipline is preferred. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred. We are looking for students who possess strong strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills, written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrate leadership and initiative. The incumbents must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment. Pay for an intern position is commensurate based on the student’s academic level in school and experience. A Housing Allowance is available for students who qualify.
