Altria Client Services’ role is to provide high quality services to the Altria family of companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified HR Service Specialist Associate to join our Human Resources Direct department in Richmond, VA.

HR Direct is an HR Service Center staffed by HR professionals available to answer HR-related questions in “real time." The Associate HR Service Specialist acts as the first point of contact in HR Direct for related inquiries. The Associate HR Service Specialist must have strong communication skills and demonstrated customer services skills with a strong focus on execution and follow through. The Associate HR Service Specialist must be well versed in company policies and principles, have a working knowledge of the organizational structure for the Altria family of companies, and posses a functional knowledge of HR principles and practices in order to deliver effective HR solutions to callers. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are essential. Candidates with demonstrated customer service skills, results orientation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment will be considered.

Specific Accountabilities Include:

? Serving as a primary point of contact with Human Resources, receiving requests for information or service and concerns, assisting employees in defining their question or issues and determining whether the request can be resolved at the HR Direct (service center) level or requires referral to a particular HR function, Payroll function, staff member or manager.
? Providing front line HR support to the employee population including managers and senior executives.
? Referencing a wide range of policies, documented procedures, standard HR data, etc., and providing employees with standard information and guidance regarding a wide range of policies, processes, programs and services.
? Following up on behalf of employees to investigate reported delays in response or action for the referred resource, and to help expedite action.
? Assisting in identifying recurring issues, problematic trends, and in recommending changes in basic procedures.
? Researching and recommending development for new issues not covered by existing policies, procedures or processes.
? Interfacing on an organization wide level with the ability to utilize key contacts or resources outside of HR Direct.
? Building customer capability by effectively explaining procedures and directing them to the appropriate resource(s) for future use (i.e. intranet, electronic PPP process, etc.).
Specific Skills Qualifications:

? Requires an understanding of all policies and processes on an organization-wide level.
? Must possess a working knowledge of SAP, Vantive, Outlook, IBM / Cisco phone
systems and potentially other systems as they are introduced into the department.
? Requires the ability to work on multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.
? Requires strong attention to detail.
? Requires the ability to think creatively with a focus on re-engineering ineffective processes, practices and utilization of technology to propose more effective solutions.
? Requires the ability to address new or unique circumstances with well thought out solution.
? Requires the ability to quickly understand the perspective of the customer and take appropriate steps to meet their needs, diffusing hostile or angry customer situations.
? Requires strong action orientation and drive for results.
? Requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining composure and accuracy.
? Ability to listen actively and attentively.
? Requires the ability to intake and process sensitive/confidential personnel
information.
? BS degree preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
? Demonstrated customer service skills.
? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
? Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
? Proficient in Word, Excel.
? Prior Human Resources or Employee Relations experience strongly preferred.
