Altria Client Services’ role is to provide high quality services to the Altria family of companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Human Resource Analyst Associate to join our Human Resource Direct department in Richmond, VA.
HR Direct is an HR Service Center staffed by HR professionals available to answer HR-related questions in “real time." The Associate Analyst position acts as a custodian of HR data and records. The primary focus of the Associate Analyst position is to ensure the accuracy of data maintained in the SAP HR system. The SAP HR system is a robust relational database and is the system of record for personnel data. Candidates for the Associate Analyst position must possess a working knowledge of SAP with a strong focus on "personnel action" data and "organizational management" data. To ensure accuracy within the SAP HR system the Associate Analyst must have a comprehensive understanding of HR data as it relates to "contingency" systems including payroll systems, benefits systems, organizational chart systems, etc. Candidates with demonstrated analytical skills, SAP skills and consultative/communication skills will be considered.
Specific accountabilities include:
• Providing technical and tactical guidance to HR Generalists regarding organizational changes and complex personnel actions. • Consult HR Systems and HR Workforce Analytics to gain insight required in order to make appropriate recommendations and address client needs. • Providing project support to HR Systems for HRIS projects, including system upgrades and enhancements. May assist HR Systems with testing new programs and system enhancements to the SAP system. • Supporting employee data loads into the SAP system. • Utilizing EXCEL for data analysis by performing v-lookups, pivot tables, etc. • Performing basic org structure maintenance, including evaluating paperwork and performing required research to maintain integrity of org structure. • Building effective partnerships with HR Generalists and Finance to ensure data accuracy in the HRIS system. • Processing daily personnel transaction requests in the SAP system, as required. • Supporting and assisting with large systems projects and audits as required, including the development and/or improvement of business processes • Generating reports through the use of queries in SAP. • Training new Associate HR Analysts as required. • Participating effectively in a collaborative team environment. • Participating on teams as the subject matter expert with the ability to make process recommendations. Must be able to constructively object to proposals, including explaining the underlying rationale for objection(s) that would have negative process/systems implications. Specific Skills Qualifications:
• Must possess a thorough understanding of relational database structures including SAP(required), ADP Payroll, and Tesseract systems. • Must possess a strong understanding of SAP OM (Org Management) and PA (Personnel Administration). • Must understand the inter-relationship of all data elements impacting the HRIS systems, including compensation and pay data. • Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to successfully address client needs. Must have the skill and experience to know when to partner with HR Systems and/or HR Workforce Analytics to resolve client issues. • Must possess the ability to establish credibility with key clients by demonstrating knowledge and expertise regarding the maintenance of HRIS data. • Must possess the ability to translate broad HRIS initiatives into specific objectives for the Associate HR Analyst role. • Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients at all levels of the organization, including technical support personnel. • Must possess the ability to work under pressure while effectively managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines • 2-4 years HRIS experience • BS degree preferred, in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field • Proficiency in EXCEL • Demonstrated customer service skills • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
