John Middleton Company’s role is to responsibly and effectively develop, manufacture and market superior branded cigars and pipe tobacco for adult tobacco consumers. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Contamination Control Coordinator to join us at our manufacturing center in Limerick, PA, approximately 40 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
The successful candidate will develop, implement, administer, and maintain the Contamination Control and Sanitation (CC&S) program for John Middleton Co. and will oversee and manage the contracted services associated with these programs. Specific accountabilities include:
• Developing and maintaining a master cleaning schedule detailing both routine and intensive cleaning requirements for all production related equipment and facilities.
• Creating and leading CC&S monitoring activities, including the cigarette beetle monitoring program and assuring that follow-up activities are undertaken to correct identified contamination, sanitation, and/or pest management issues.
• Developing a process to assess the acceptability of acquired indirect materials.
• Maintaining accuracy of the IMEP catalog database.
• Serving as the CC&S subject matter expert for the organization and enhancing the overall level of sanitation/contamination expertise within the organization through training and coaching.
• Providing the JMC Leadership team with periodic assessments of the status and effectiveness of the organization's CC&S program.
• Supervising pest control contractors in pesticide applications assuring the personnel safety, product safety and effectiveness of the operations.
• Assisting in managing visits and communications with regulatory agencies and internal auditors.
Specific Skills Qualifications include:
• A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in science, engineering or business, plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial sanitation practices, with specific knowledge of the cigarette beetle.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and sufficient scientific knowledge to assess materials, including interpretation of MSDS and/or technical description of material composition.
• Highly developed problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
