Altria Client Services’ role is to provide high quality services to the Altria family of companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Manager of Consumer Sensory Integration to join our Market Information and Consumer Research (MICR) department in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will lead sensory product research for key business areas in support of the development of new adjacent products and will provide the fundamental knowledge of sensory product research to senior management upon which critical product related decisions are made. The span of the research includes maintaining the performance of current brands, understanding the competitive product landscape, research on new product initiatives within the current category and new product research in new product areas. Specific accountabilities include:

• Analyzing current knowledge and making recommendations for research
• Providing technical and managerial oversight of projects
• Providing insights on the data collected and making recommendations to senior management on product direction
• Coordinating research across the department to ensure integrated research planning and insights
• Collaborating with managers, senior managers and directors within MICR to propose research and deliver insights
• Collaborating with key directors of project areas to determine research needs, provide insights and make recommendations on product direction
• Presenting results to senior management
• Advancing the sensory research infrastructure within CSI, mentoring and developing new talent
Specific Skills Qualifications include:

• An advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline plus a minimum of 10 years experience working in an applied RD&E environment
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• In-depth knowledge of product concept development based on a deep understanding of consumers, their habits and product needs
• A broad knowledge of statistics, research methodology development, and qualitative research methods
• Excellent technical team leadership skills, strong technical writing skills, flexibility, and creativity
• Proven record of building internal networks to provide cross functional impact
• Proven organizational and project management skills
