We are currently seeking a Sr. Specialist Quality Compliance in our Product Quality Investigations group in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and technical support to Altria’s operating companies related to the investigation, documentation, and disposition of Product Quality Incidents (PQI’s). The incumbent will be expected to work collaboratively with the operating companies and support functions to provide resolution to a variety of product quality issues. The incumbent will be expected to apply a broad based knowledge of quality operations and FDA related regulatory compliance in order to resolve these quality issues.

In addition to supporting Altria’s operating companies in the resolution of product quality issues, the incumbent will be expected to provide trending, analysis, and escalation of consumer complaints. They will also need to have the ability to lead and manage enterprise wide ALCS Regulatory Quality Compliance (RQC) initiatives.

Specific accountabilities include:
• Reviewing and providing guidance as needed to Altria’s operating companies related to the investigation, documentation and potential impact of product quality issues.
• Providing disposition authorization for escalated PQI’s.
• Identifying and escalating internal and external situations which may pose quality/compliance risks that may adversely affect business operations.
• Participating in the development of Altria-wide Factory Conformance Analysts through training and/or mentoring to increase the overall organizational capability.
• Providing trending, analysis, and reporting related to Altria’s operating companies product quality issues.
• Ability to formalize ALCS RQC initiatives and lead cross functional teams to execute them.

Specific Skills

Qualifications include:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a Physical Science, Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 4+ years relevant experience in quality systems and product quality incident investigations.
• Proficient in fundamental Quality Systems practices in FDA regulated industries (tobacco, pharmaceuticals, medical devices or dietary supplements).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide guidance and recommendations to all levels of management.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills along with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
• The ability to perform assignments in an independent and autonomous manner with minimal direct supervision.
• Ability to utilize various computer software to include: TrackWise, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to perform the duties of a general office environment. Ability to routinely travel to manufacturing facilities up to 20-25% throughout the year (domestic and international).
