We’re looking for an exceptional HR Business Partner to take on a role requiring a strategic & growth-mindset and an eagerness to be hands-on. Successful candidates will possess a solid HR background (ideally in a unionized manufacturing environment), strong leadership and influencing abilities, a passion for learning, and the ability to think big picture in order to drive positive talent and culture outcomes.

The HR Manager (HR Business Partner) role will support senior business leaders and their teams in the development and execution of talent and culture initiatives within our Philip Morris USA manufacturing campus located in Richmond, VA. This role will also be responsible for supporting day-to-day labor relations.

Job Duties:

* Proactively partner with and counsel senior business leaders on various talent and culture initiatives to include: talent recruiting & selection, leadership development, succession/talent planning, employee engagement & culture, diversity & inclusion, change management, and rewards and recognition.
* Coach leaders on progressive strategies to build and enhance individual and organizational capabilities.
* Identify trends/insights (internal and external) and proactively recommend solutions that enhance: organizational effectiveness, leadership capabilities, and organizational culture.
* Help shape progressive labor relations strategies, maintain positive labor-management relations, assist with contract administration and negotiations, grievance/arbitration resolution, and other day-to-day labor/employee relations matters as needed.
* Directly handle and guide resolution on a variety of complex employee relations matters.
* Be a champion for continuously transforming our culture.

Specific Skills

Qualifications include:

* Bachelor’s degree is required ideally in the field of Business, Human Resources, or Labor Relations. A Master's degree preferred but not required.
* Minimum of 7 years of hands-on HR experience, ideally in a unionized manufacturing environment
* Must have understanding and working knowledge of applicable labor and employment laws and regulations at the state and federal level to include NLRA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, FLSA, etc.
* Experience in handling employee relations matters, audits and other concerns reported to and/or received by governmental agencies requests (NLRB, EEOC, etc.)
* Advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal/written communication, influencing, collaboration, project management, presentation, problem-solving, and HR systems/computer skills.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships with business leaders, HR colleagues, and employees at all levels of the organization to include developing and implementing innovative and bold HR/LR practices and programs.
