We are currently seeking an Associate Manager Political Outreach to join our Government Affairs department in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will develop and execute programs including AltriaPac to ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders important to Government Affairs objectives.

Specific accountabilities include:
• Managing the administration of AltriaPAC including budgeting, recommendations, disbursements, compliance, Ambassador program, employee fundraising, Altria hosted fundraisers, AltriaPAC Events, and AltriaPAC Board Meeting preparation.
• Managing Altria's executive representation at events and in the community with elected officials and key stakeholders including writing and making remarks at high level events.
• Administration of DC area grant making.
• Researching best practices and engaging in best-in-class practitioners to continuously improve programs.
• Ensuring program compliance, legal, and regulatory requirements are met.
• Leveraging the Verizon center suite for stakeholder engagement.
• Semi-Annual uploading of AltriaPAC contributions to Altria.com and semi-annual Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) reporting for AltriaPAC contributions.

Specific Skills

Qualifications include:
• BS degree required. Strong preference for advanced degree in law, political science, economics, or public policy;
• 3+ years of relevant work experience preferably with a public policy association, trade association, corporation and/or elected official;
• Strong analytical skills and must be able to find creative solutions to complex problems;
• Excellent communications skills (written, interpersonal & presentation) as applied to a broad variety of stakeholders (i.e. elected officials, policy groups, business partners, consumers, etc.);
• Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans and processes as well as ability to integrate large amounts of information into meaningful analysis;
• Strong working knowledge of government affairs, public policy and legislative activity;
• Ability to influence without authority and building strategic collaborative partnerships; and
• Must work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and be able to manage multiple projects with varying timelines
